This weekend, Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village transforms more than 80 acres into a glowing winter streetscape filled with twinkling lights, crackling bonfires, and old-fashioned holiday fun. Visitors can browse handmade gifts along Main Street, ride in a historic Model T, or reserve a special supper with Santa Claus before ending the night with a festive fireworks display. The event runs on select evenings through December 28 at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, with tickets starting around $30.

Detroit’s 10th Annual Santa Speedo Run returns this weekend, bringing a lighthearted, one-mile charity run to downtown Detroit. Participants in Speedos and other festive attire will take to the streets on Saturday, Dec. 7, with registration beginning at 1 p.m. at Checker Bar, 124 Cadillac Square. There is no fee to participate, but donations are encouraged and will benefit The Greening of Detroit and The Ruth Ellis Center, supporting local environmental efforts and LGBTQ+ youth in the community.

This weekend, Nutcracker: Magical Christmas Ballet brings an immersive holiday performance to the Fox Theatre in Detroit, featuring new choreography, an all-star cast of world-class dancers, daring acrobatics, extravagant costumes, and stunningly colorful sets. Wayne County Lightfest offers a festive drive-through experience along a magical 5-mile stretch of Hines Park, where visitors can enjoy more than 50 animated displays featuring over 100,000 lights without ever leaving the car. Midway through, guests can stop at Perrin Park for food trucks, restrooms, and photo opportunities. The Lightfest runs through Dec. 24, with admission starting at $5 per vehicle.

This holiday season, Magic of Lights transforms Pine Knob Music Theatre into a drive-through winter wonderland featuring more than two million lights. Families can enjoy classic holiday scenes like the 12 Days of Christmas along with unique displays such as the Bigfoot Monster Truck and Mattel’s Waving Christmas Barbie, all from the comfort of their car. The experience runs from Nov. 21 through Jan. 3, with tickets starting at $28.55 and sold online only.

This weekend, Glenlore Trails’ Aurora: Winter Wizards invites the public to step into a magical, immersive night walk where lights, sound, and storytelling bring the forest to life. This season’s adventure centers on battling “The Gloom,” a creeping chill threatening the spirit of the holidays, as guests explore interactive displays and themed scenes along the illuminated trail. The experience runs on select evenings through Dec. 28, with general admission tickets priced at $25 and discounted options available for children, seniors, and large groups.
