Metro Detroit Weekend Events
The Ann Arbor Art Fair returns this weekend, July 17–19, transforming downtown Ann Arbor into one of the largest outdoor art celebrations in the country. Spanning 30 city blocks and featuring nearly 1,000 juried artists from across the U.S., this nationally recognized event showcases a wide variety of artwork, paintings, sculpture, glass, jewelry, ceramics, and more. It's made up of three distinct fairs: the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original; The Guild’s Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair; and the Ann Arbor State Street District Art Fair. Admission is free, and the entire downtown becomes a vibrant, walkable gallery open to all.
The Farmington Founders Festival returns to downtown Farmington from July 17–19 with a full weekend of family-friendly fun. This year’s lineup includes the popular Fido Festival dog agility shows, a crafters market, children’s activities, a lively parade, beer tent, and a bustling farmers market. The 42nd annual African World Festival returns to Hart Plaza July 18–20, hosted by the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
