Disney’s The Lion King is giving Metro Detroit audiences a chance to experience one of Broadway’s most visually stunning productions this weekend at the Detroit Opera House. Known for its towering giraffes, sweeping musical numbers, and unforgettable stage design, the six-time Tony Award-winning show brings the African savannah to life in a way that continues to captivate theatergoers of all ages. With performances running through April 5 and ticket prices starting at $35, this is one of the biggest live theater events happening in downtown Detroit right now.
Blake Farms Easter Events is bringing fun to Metro Detroit families this weekend with festive celebrations happening at all three of its locations. Guests can expect egg hunts, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, and a variety of seasonal activities designed for kids and families. Easter Egg-a-Palooza takes place March 28-29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blake’s Lyon Twp. in South Lyon, while Easter Egg-stravaganza runs March 28-29 and April 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill in Armada. A Hoppin’ Good Time will also be held March 28-29 and April 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blake’s Backyard in Almont.
Canterbury Village’s Eggstravaganza is bringing two weekends of Easter fun to Lake Orion, giving families plenty to look forward to this weekend and next. Admission includes lawn games, a petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny, magic and juggling shows, and the always-popular helicopter egg drop, with guests encouraged to bring their own baskets. The event takes place March 28-29 and April 3-4, with tickets priced at $13.99 plus taxes and fees, while rides are available at an additional cost. Advance tickets are required, as walk-up admission will not be offered.
The Village of Rochester Hills is giving families another free Easter outing to enjoy this weekend with visits from the Easter Bunny and a petting farm. Guests can stop by for complimentary photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, though they will need to bring their own camera, and children can also enjoy the free petting farm during the event. Fresh donuts from Little Donut Factory will be available for purchase as well. The event runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on March 28-29 and again on April 3-4 at The Village of Rochester Hills.
Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat – Live on Stage! is bringing family-friendly fun to downtown Detroit this weekend with three performances at the Fox Theatre on March 28. Based on the beloved children’s classic, the live stage show brings the mischievous Cat, Thing One, and Thing Two to life with plenty of energy, laughs, and colorful chaos for all ages. Showtimes are scheduled for 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m., making it an easy weekend option for families looking for something fun to do in the city. Tickets start around $38.80.
